Before you start looking for a home you should ask yourself a few questions:

- What type of property would you like?
- Do you want to be close to transportation, schools, or work?
- How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you want?
- Do you want a yard?
- How much property can you afford?
- Have you consulted a mortgage lender to determine what you are qualified for in a mortgage?
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
- First and foremost call your agent to help you get started. The buyer's agent services are FREE of charge. An agent can provide you with valuable information on homes, mortgages, inspections and any other real estate related topic that may interest you.
- Schedule a buyer consultation session. This will allow you to understand the whole buying process and answer any questions that you may have.
- Take the time to talk to a mortgage lender/broker. He or she will help you understand the whole loan process in detail. More importantly, they will help you identify a comfort level in terms of payment and affordability. If you don't already have a lender, I'd be happy to refer you to an accredited loan officer.
